ESG Databook

This Databook has been prepared for our stakeholders, including employees, investors, community groups, government, suppliers, customers and non-government organisations.
The Databook presents the performance of Fortescue against key material sustainability commitments and targets. Contents are updated at least twice per year, with date of update provided for each data entry. It supports our annual reporting suite which includes our FY25 Annual Report, our Climate Change Report and Corporate Governance Statement (within the FY25 Annual Report), this Sustainability Report, and FY24 Modern Slavery Statement, which are available in our Document Library.
With the exception of greenhouse gas emissions, this Databook has been prepared for the same consolidated reporting entity and reporting period as the Group’s Consolidated Financial Statement (please refer to ‘Note 23(a) Basis of consolidation’ in the financial statements) and has incorporated climate-related information of the parent company and all of its global subsidiaries. Greenhouse gas emissions are calculated based on an operational control approach utilising the GHG Protocol corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. For further information on this approach, please refer to our FY25 Emissions Calculation Methodology located in our  Document Library
We value all feedback. Please forward any comments on this Databook or requests for additional information to sustainability@fortescue.com.

Verification and Assurance

Fortescue takes the approach of seeking reasonable assurance of Scope 1 and 2 (location-based and market-based) greenhouse gas emissions as reported under the NGER Act. Scope 3 emissions is subject to limited assurance, while a broader group of metrics relevant to Fortescue's annual performance against public targets are subject to external verification. All other publicly disclosed metrics are subject to an internal verification process. This approach is based on an assessment of legal requirements, global standards and stakeholder expectations and is subject to change with each reporting year. For more information about the metrics subject to external verification and assurance, including External Audit opinions, please refer to the FY25 ESG Databook available in our Document Library
